Diminishing the cost for users for provisioning anywhere connecting at anytime from anywhere network, CloudIMS consists of interconnecting heterogeneous access technology and to respond to a major challenge for serving the increase in demand and scalable network access to share pool of configurable resource of enabling a convenient cloud computing. This paper mainly focused on common approach to integrate the IP multimedia subsystem (IMS), the Internet of thing, and cloud computing under the name of CloudIMS architecture which makes multimedia service easy to deploy on a cloud platform. We present the state of art of the different elements of CloudIMS. Moreover, we examine the layers designed for CloudIMS based on next-generation network access for mobile communication devices between different types of technologies (3GPP and non-3GPP), such as global system for mobile communication (GSM), wireless network, worldwide interoperability for microwave access (WiMAX), Universal Mobile Telecommunications System (UMTS) and long-term evolution (LTE). Finally, we present an architecture of CloudIMS according to our point of view, followed by a discussion of a use case for the future networks. {\textcopyright} Springer India 2015.}, doi = {10.1007/978-81-322-2012-1_5}, url = {https://www.scopus.com/inward/record.uri?eid=2-s2.0-84906933110\&doi=10.1007\%2f978-81-322-2012-1_5\&partnerID=40\&md5=d708396f65127dc5fbaa3123c7e2b9aa}, author = {Allouch, H. and Belkasmi, M.} }
