Despite the potential benefits that cloud computing offers, the model brings new issues, challenges, and needs in term of SLA formalization, Quality of Service (QoS) evaluation due to the heterogeneous resources and to the special features it implies, such as Elasticity and Scalability. In the scope of this paper we focus on the Elasticity and Scalability attributes to assess their impact on the QoS. The paper provides a multi-lenses overview that can help both cloud consumers and potential business application{\textquoteright}s owners to understand, analyze, and evaluate important aspects related to Scalability and Elasticity capabilities. We determine and analyze the key features of these characteristics and derive metrics that evaluate the cloud elasticity-centric capabilities. We present a specific quality model for those two characteristics derived from their sub-attributes.}, isbn = {978-1-4799-5979-2}, issn = {2327-185X}, author = {Alfath, Abdeladim and Baina, Salah and Baina, Karim}, editor = {ElMohajir, M and AlAchhab, M and Chahhou, M} } @conference { ISI:000327787500010, title = {Cloud Computing Security: Fine-grained analysis and Security approaches}, booktitle = {2013 NATIONAL SECURITY DAYS (JNS3)}, year = {2013}, note = {3rd National Security Days (JNS), Mohammed V Souissi Unvi, Rabat, MOROCCO, APR 26-27, 2013}, publisher = {Assoc Marocaine ConfiAnace Numerique; Ecole Nationale Superieure Informatique \& Analyse Syst; Informat Secur Res Team; IEEE Morocco Sect; Bank Al Maghrib; Natl Ctr Sci \& Technol Res}, organization = {Assoc Marocaine ConfiAnace Numerique; Ecole Nationale Superieure Informatique \& Analyse Syst; Informat Secur Res Team; IEEE Morocco Sect; Bank Al Maghrib; Natl Ctr Sci \& Technol Res}, abstract = {Cloud computing is a new paradigm for hosting and delivering services over the internet. In this paper, we aim to pinpoint the challenges and issue related to the Cloud computing security and also to discuss some promising approaches to encounter these concerns. Despite the potential benefits that cloud computing offers, the model security is not mature yet. Indeed. security is considered as the major obstacle to faster and more widespread adoption of cloud computing. In the scope of this paper, we will emphasize the impact of the cloud computing characteristics and properties such as Multitenancy and Elasticity on the security model. We will provide detailed analysis of the risks associated with these properties and also with the Virtualization which is a cornerstone of some cloud implementations. A second part of this paper will be dedicated to discuss some promising approaches to overcome the security issues in the cloud paradigm.}, isbn = {978-1-4799-0324-5}, author = {Alfath, Abdeladim and Baina, Karim and Baina, Salah} }
