EDILE: Exam distance learning environment

Evaluation is an important stage in the learning process, however when dealing with distance learning the evaluation becomes complicated. Hence, our research objective is to design and implement an exam distance learning environment (EDILE). The EDILE covers all stages of the assessment process, beginning from the edition of the exam until the correction of the student answers and the display of their grades. The major challenge that EDILE has to deal with is distance and security. Actually six different institutes are concerned by EDILE and we have to prevent from any fraud before during and after exams. This paper presents EDILE specifications which type of questions it handles, how the exam structure is defined and the questions scheduled Some security issues are also discussed.
