Blockchain Security and Privacy in Education: A Systematic Mapping Study

Blockchain is a technology that promotes security, transparency and authenticity. It is defined by as distributed ledger technology and consensus algorithm, it’s first application were in the financial sector with Bitcoin, Ethereum and other cryptocurrency, but now the concept has spread to other sectors like Healthcare, Governance, Education, etc. In the education sector all stakeholders need a reliable technology that will improves the education system and takes it to the next step. The Blockchain has all the key characteristics to do just that (distributed ledger, no third parties, chronological timestamp, cryptographically sealed, consensus based), and to be used in bigger scale it has to gives assurance such as data privacy and data security.
